Bonelli Park Fat Ass 50K Report

The first Bonelli Park Fat Ass 50K (or Less) went on without a hitch. There was a total of six of us to take on the challenge. They where Marty, Bruce, Jeannette, Tim, Tanya and Me. Tanya and I had run and marked the course late in the afternoon the night before so we decided from the beginning we where only going to run 2 of the 11 mile loops. We were confident the others would step up to the challenge and run all 3 loops. But as the morning progressed; I'm not sure if it was maybe the difficulty of the course, or that fact that after each loop you returned to your car to refuel (which made it easy to stop), but everyone decided to call it a early day and no one completed the entire 33 miles. I still see potential in the course and maybe we can do it again next year and everyone will complete the course. Nonetheless we had a terrific day out there, running just brings so much JOY!! Stay fit, Stay strong, and LOVE LIFE. Life is great you know.

Bonelli Park Fat Ass 50K

Sunday March 8th will be the first running of the Bonelli Park Fat Ass 50K (plus or minus). Bonelli Park is located in San Dimas, Ca, the park is 1,975 acres surrounding a 250 acre lake; but best of all it has miles and miles of trails. Tanya and I train there all the time, we have an 11.5 mile loop that would make for a great Fat Ass Run.

You say what is a Fat Ass Run? I say it is a fun run on a course with friends that costs no money. You run at your own risk, you bring your own supplies, and have a heck of a good time. No T-shirts, No Medals, just you, friends and the trails!
Don't stress the 50K distance if you haven't run that far in the past. The course is a loop so you can run 1 loop, 2 loops,or go for the gusto and run all 3!

Take a peek at some of the great single track trails you get at Bonelli Park!

This weekend Tanya and I ran at our new favorite trail running spot; Bonelli Park. Spring is here, and the wild flowers are in full bloom. We had a terrific run in a beautiful place. We are looking forward to running the Leona Divide 50 miler in a few weeks. Enjoy the pictures.
Get out there and run! God is everywhere!

Bonelli Park Stairs

This past weekend we explored some trails in Bonelli Park, We have run there before but never explored the fire roads and single track trails in and around the lake. We had a great time, the trails are well maintained, and consisted of nice climbs, easy downhills, and flats to get great tempo runs in. I think we will be back often.

Tanya, Jeannette, and I going down, down, down. The stairs at Bonelli Park in San Dimas rival the stairs in Santa Monica. If you look there are so many places to get your work-out on. Stairs are a great way to work the legs and the glutes, and boy do they get the heart rate up!!

Fun at Bonelli Park

This past weekend we met at Bonelli Park (aka Puddingstone) for an early Sunday morning fun work out. The ladies Tanya, Char,Tobie, and Jeannette ran, while Dennis and I decided to ride. The park has a 7 mile loop that is safe for running and riding, it also boasts running and mountain bike trails. Let me not forget the Lake which has boating, fishing, and a triathlon series.
Hey look Twins!! at least the blue jersey and the black riding pants. Dennis and I after riding a few loops. It was such a beautiful morning, not a cloud in the sky, and the air was crisp and clean. Great for riding. But sad to say later in the day the fires all over the south land began, fueled by the Santa Ana winds. The air quality went down quickly.

Hey Char and Jeanette, you ladies are sure looking good! those Bonelli park hills must not be as tough as they look!! Marc! its Starbucks time!! I heard that Char!! Who's buying.

Ok, Jeanette when are we doing that Ironman? Me trying to talk Jeanette into getting a road bike. I love running, but the mile sure pass by faster on a bike.

Until next week " Much Love"
